Frazier Museum Board Hires Mary Case as Interim Executive Director

The Board of the Frazier International History Museum announces the appointment of Mary Case as the museum’s Interim Executive Director. Case co-founded Quality Management to a Higher Power, a community of consulting practitioners dedicated to improving nonprofit organizations and the boards, businesses, associations and foundations that support them. Her strategic approach and team-building skills have helped organizations reorganize, work smarter, and become stronger in achieving programmatic goals essential to their mission. She comes highly recommended by Ed Able, immediate past president of the American Association of Museums (AAM).

Ms. Case’s tenure begins January 2, 2007. Her primary responsibilities will be to oversee and direct the museum’s next phase of succession. Her specific goals will be to manage the nation-wide search for a permanent Executive Director, build upon the strategic plan set forth by the museum’s Board and manage and direct the daily activities of the museum staff.
“With the completion of the building and all related efforts, not to mention the successful opening of the Museum, it is now time for the museum to take the next logical step in the lifecycle of our institution. Mary’s vast knowledge of museums, coupled with my passion and enthusiasm for the museum and knowledge of Louisville is the ideal combination that will enable us to achieve our goals. As a recognized professional in museum management, Mary brings to the Frazier a new and exciting perspective!  With Mary on the team, I along with the Board will now focus on the challenge of securing this international museum’s future and its mission of educational excellence.” – Ed Webb, Director of Development for the museum.
“The Board has taken solid action and views Mary’s appointment as an extremely positive move. This will enable the museum to move beyond our formative phase and into the next plateau of becoming an historical museum of significant cultural relevance for the local, regional, and national constituents we serve.”  - Owsley Brown Frazier, Founder and Chairman of the museum’s board of directors.
